cool stationaries

All of you who know me well know i'm an absolute sucker for cute/cool/unique stationaries. Pen, pencils, erasers, pencil sharperners and especially notebooks. Oh, i cannot walk into a stationary shop and come out empty handed. look at my cute cute notebooks! *swoons*

and i thought i had it bad....

i spent my whole ICU on call time taking care of this 12 year old kid who jz had his brain tumor removed. he has four bags of liquid going in simultaneously because his urine production was insane-25L of urine in a day!! i had to change infuse bottles every 20minutes. he was shivering even though his body temperature was 37 celcius. apparently the edema in his brain is pressing on his hypophysis, thus increasing the release of certain hormones produced by tat part, and one of the hormones causes his body to eliminate fluid excessively. sigh. so kesian. he was barely conscious. i was listening to my ipod together with him, because i think it sounds better than monitor beeps. i help him scratch his legs cos he was too weak to do so. his parents ask me if he is any better-i wanted to point at the amount of infuse bottles i changed, around 30 bottles, and ask them if tat looks promising but of cos i cant. so i jz said to pray hard. OMG, imagine if it was ur kid. u'll be heartbroken looking at him....

anethesiology wohoo

i did endotracheal intubation for the first time today! i successfully entered the airway, not the esophagus! ahahahaha! so happy. i love medical skills. THIS is what coas shud be about, not sucking up and getting signatures. =)

rural VS urban hospitals

going to Klaten Hospital today was a refreshing experience. it reminded me that there are kind hearted and smart doctors around.

i'll choose to work in a rural hospital over an urban one any time. the patients are cooperative and trusting. the doctors and nurses are kind and helpful. even the satpam (guards) are friendly. despite the yucky accomodation and food, rural hospitals are waaay better. i'll take an outstation hospital over Sardjito any day!

if you walked out and slammed d door on me, and continued with silent treatment, and u never apologized, i'll never forgive u. even if its a month or a year ago, i am still waiting for an apology. simple, right?

if i see you making an effort to help yourself or to be independent by solving your problems yourself, i will help you. if you keep on taking advantage of others and being so dependent on others, i seriously will not help you. simple, right?

if you like to copy off me, i will try my best to thwart you. why should i work hard researching and writing jz to haf u copy and pass up the same thing, thus risking my own work? wad if i get scolded for copying off u? not like u will admit u copied off me. so yeah, simple, right?

if you scratch my back i'll scratch yours. even if you dont scratch my back i'll help u scratch yours. cos i dun believe in helping people only because it benefits me. i'm not that narrow minded.

if u think i'm avoiding you, then you are most likely right. the reason? u can just ask me. going behind my back will not help you. simple, right?

i'm in anesthesiology department now.

i jz stood in d op theatre for 5 n a half hours. to find out that actually we only need to enter for the pre-op and beginning of d operation. not till post op. double -_- after that operation, i went to the anesthesiology's football game simply because they want all of us coas to go and they make us sign attendance there as proof we went. and what did we do there? nothing. jz sit and look at them play. super -_-

everyday we haf to do pre op. yesterday, we waited for the schedule and it came out at 2pm. we called d doc at 2.30pm. he said he's arriving in d hospital at 3pm. 3pm came, we called, he said 3.30pm. then 3.30pm came and we called, he said 10 more mins. and he arrived at 4.30pm. we went to anamnesis the patient which took 15 mins, and that was it. -_- we spent how many hours waiting? lemme ask u again, how many hours?????

i tell u, coas life is so lame that i wanna scream and yell at someone or anyone for forcing me to come here.

conclusion-the medicine part is fun, the red tape part sucks a mile. to get a signature, u haf to wait for hours. once i had to wait four hours. -_-

everyday haf to get tons of signatures. one day = 24 hours, u do d math.

got people rear ducks near my house!! i've stayed here for 3 years and i never knew. reminds me of christina's ducks. but of cos christina's ducks nicer. taste good also. yummmmm.... ah, pak lo ak, aaahhhhh
